“May you always love nature, windows, and all things fresh and windy (claustrophobia in me was given birth), and may you always be the reason why I always breathe and dance to my own tune.

She also shared the grief of those mothers who lost their sons, saying that nothing is worth the “breaking of a mother’s heart.”

"Meri Maa!!... The most beautiful woman in the world, my strongest warrior, and my very first teacher. She taught me how to stay strong in the toughest times, to never give up, to believe in myself first. She showed me how to love even those who badmouthed me, and how to say “NO” when it meant compromising my self-respect.

"She even taught her son how to respect women, how to honor his wife, how to listen to his daughter, and how to create equality in married life.

"Happy Mother’s Day, Amma. I wish I could become even half the woman you are. Thank you for believing in me when others turned their backs. Thank you for making me strong, for protecting me, and for teaching me the true value of relationships and family bonds. I promise to pass on everything you have taught me.

"Aap ke bagair mein kuch nahi kar sakti. You’re the Queen of our home. Aap ka saya hum pe hamesha salamat rahe, Ameen."
