The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued affidavits on Thursday to ensure women’s representation in the general elections.
The affidavit will be submitted by the political party leaders, and at least 5per cent of seats will be given to women.
According to the election commission, it will be a requirement for National and Provincial Assembly elections, as per the election act 2017, sections 206 and 215.
